PROJECT SWORD (2017)

Project Sword is a collaborative work by theatre company Northern6. A group of six artists and theatre makers from the north of England.

Exploring stories and events that unfolded on June 6 1944, project Sword finds fictional characters built through ethnographic research. Educating and informing audiences on the events of D-Day, not only over seas on the beaches themselves but the impact on the home front and the families and loved ones soldiers left behind.

Project Sword charts a minute by minute fragment of of D-Day inviting questions on the futility of war, heroism, and the everyday soldier.
